He was predeceased by: his parents, William Guertin and Marie Guertin; his sisters, Patricia McLaughlin and Sandra Bush; and his son-in-law Andy Kemppainen.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara; and his children, Jackie Churack (Brian), Vicki Kemppainen and Richard Guertin Jr. (Tammy). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
