He was predeceased by: his parents, Sid Barrett and Ada Barrett (Brown); and his siblings, Robert, Ralph Barrett and Rosella Drotts (Tuz).

He is survived by: his children, Bruce (Faye), Gary (Liz), Kent Barrett (Dawn) and Donna Nelson (Dave Jaeger); and his brother Russell Barrett (Win). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
