He is survived by: his children, Karla Merhar (Steve) of Bovey and Brian Steel (Jeannine) of Bovey; his grandchildren, Tarryn Steel (Jeff Lapinski) of Grand Rapids, Tommy Merhar of Hendersonville, TN, Gabe Steel of Bovey, MN and Ben Steel (Ally Erickson) of Kaukauna, WI; his great grandchild Finlee Steel; and his siblings, Sharon Hauff (Bob) of Grand Rapids, Sandra Steel of Grand Rapids, Steve Steel of Bovey, MN, Danny Steel, Mark Steel (Kathy) of Hibbing and Janice Hurrly (Marvin) of Minneapolis. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and his dog family.
