He was predeceased by: his parents, Ewald Sadlowsky and Louise Sadlowsky; and his sister Mabel Gunderson. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Schwinghamer; his daughters, Dawn Slager (Rick), Louise Sobtzak (Dick) and Lisa Pittack (Scott); his sister Mae Volk (Roger); his grandchildren, Sadie, Ella, Ezra, Samuel, Joseph and Joanna; and his great grandchildren, Sophia, Logan, River, Olivia, Eleanor and Calvin.
