He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Kostka and Mildred Kostka; his stepchildren, Elaine Olson, Eleanor Olson, Joyce Powers, Joe Olson and Elwood Olson; and his brothers, William "Bill" Kostka and Harold Kostka.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian; his daughter Michelle Spruck (Rob) of Rosemount, MN; and his stepchildren, Sharon Braden of Louisiana, Keith Olson of Hibbing, Marvin Olson (Sandy) of Hibbing, Linda McCormick (Everett) of Babbitt, Cathy Swapp (Chris) of Arizonia and Colleen Olson of Hibbing. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
