He was predeceased by: his father Mervin Knutson. He is survived by: his mother Joan Knutson (Nelson); his sons, Corey Knutson (Stephanie), Adam Knutson (Danielle), Tyler Knutson (Jennifer Moebius) and Blake Knutson (Kelsie); his granddaughters, Adalynn "Addy" Knutson, Ava Knutson and Millie Knutson; and his sisters, Deborah Durhman (Randy) and Donna Stejskal (Tom). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Grand Meadow Fire Department or Bear Creek Lutheran Church.
