He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Lovaas and Mabel Lovaas (Strom); his siblings, Harold, Kenneth and Virginia; and his children-in-law, Tim Nelson and Carol Lovaas.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Jean Nelson, Jim Lovaas (Wendy), Julie Birgersson (Peter), Steve Lovaas (Nancy) and Mark Lovaas; his grandchildren, Lisa Ricke (Reese), Lydia Nelson (Jeremiah), Claire Lovaas, Jonathan Lovaas (Shandelle) and Michael Lovaas; and his brother Vernon Lovaas. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to Grand Marais Evangelical Free Church.
