With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Roger A. Gird of Goodhue, Minnesota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Roger left this world on November 28, 2024 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gird and Loyce Gird (Bode); his grandson Taylor; his great grandchild Dawson; and his brother Robert.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Tutewohl Sommers; his children, Troy Sommers (Tess), Shane Sommers, Stacie Maloney (Dave), Robyn Chapman and Ryan Gird (Jessica); and his grandchildren, Josh, Nate, Mandi, Chad, Bryce, Lindsay, Kaylynn, Carter, Madeline, Carrie, Dylan and Mason. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church (34289 County 24 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009). A memorial service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
