He was predeceased by: his parents, C. G. Brooks and Mildred Brooks (Sharp); his siblings, Ricky Ray Brooks and Cynthia Brooks; and his uncle Ralph Brooks.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Brooks; his children, Stacey Brooks (Kelly) of Broken Bow, OK, Tony McDonald (Donna) of Whitewright, TX, Richard Lewis (Laura) of Idabel, OK and Eric Lewis of Broken Bow, OK; his siblings, Roy Brooks (Janice) of Powderly, TX, John Brooks (Tina) of Campbell, TX and Zella Brittain (Darrell) of Broken Bow, OK; his grandchildren, Ledger Brooks, Lyndsey Hastings, Garrett McDonald, Cameron McDonald, Zane McDonald and McHaley Lewis; his great grandchildren, Bayler Brooks and Breelynn Brooks; his uncles, Dwight Hadley (Billie) of Gladewater, TX and James Hopson (Benny) of Eagletown, OK; and his aunt Virginia Brooks of Broken Bow, OK. He is also survived by friends; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
