He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Poehler and Tunie Poehler (Wilking); his siblings, Dorothy, Gertrude, George, Arnold, Albert, Marvin, Robert and James; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Peterson, Ron Anderson and Gene Magras.
He is survived by: his wife Marian M. Steinborn; his children, Elizabeth Van Grootheest, Jess (Leslie), Jarrod (Stacy) and Tory Kruggel (Jesse); his grandchildren, Elijah, Gabrielle, Josh, Maya, Eden, Jayda and Bodie; his siblings, Harold (Betty), Elaine Peterson and Adeline Magras; and his sister-in-law Darlene Poehler.
