It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary (Ries) Twomey of Golden Valley, Minnesota, who passed away on October 30, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Ries and Inger Karin Ries; and her siblings, Gene, Tony, Peter, Evelyn and Allen.
She is survived by: her husband David W. Twomey of St. Cloud; her children, Renee Schoonover (Terry), David Twomey (Ada Liu), Margaret Green (Tom), Colleen Russell (Mike), Daniel Twomey (Jessica), Janet Carsten (Jim) and Jean Twomey (Ken Siegford); her grandchildren, Jeff, Luke, Kate, Shaun, Sara, Rachel, Lauren, Andrew, Shanna, Stephanie, Julia, Brady, Madelyn, Quinn, Emmett and Ivan; her great grandchildren, Charlie, William, Evan and James Patrick; and her siblings, George Ries (Clareen), Karen Ciptak (Jerry) and Virginia McCormick (Jay). She is also survived by seven children, 16 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Michael Catholic Church (16400 Duluth Ave SE, Prior Lake, MN 55372). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mary's. A reception was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location.
