He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Callen and Anna Callen (Gomarko); his stepmother Sarah Heitman Callen; his wife Marion Novotny of John's Catholic Church; his siblings, Elaine Moen (Lloyd) and Donald Callen (Gloria); his siblings-in-law, George Novotny (Georgina), Benjamin Novotny (Virgina), Helen Palzer (Gus) and Rose Ketelboeter (Dale); his grandchildren, Lillie Elaine Friedrich and William Arnold Friedrich; his nephews, Dennis Moen, James Moen and Lawerence Novotny; his niece Judy Callen Degner; his son-in-law Todd G. Mrnak; his friend Frank Buss (Sonny); and also Gertrude.
He is survived by: his friends, Neil Hofland and Laverne Floen; his daughter Ann Marie Mrnak of Miltona; his grandchildren, Zachary and Henlee Mrnak; his daughter Tammy Schmidt (James) of Alexandria; his granddaughters, Adelina Wheeler (Cameron), Marilee Myhr (Ryan) and Grace Schmidt; his children, Michael of Katherine Pratt, DPM and Pamela Friedrich (Brian) of Moorhead; his grandsons, Tomas and Nathan Friedrich; his son Ryan (Michale) of Ely; his grandchildren, Chloe and Caleb Callen; and his brother Verlyn Callen (Carolyn) of Hearne, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and family friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Glenwood Fire Department.
