He was predeceased by: his parents, Garfield "Pop" Halverson (Sigrund Halverson) and Sigrund "Mardy" Halverson (Lund); his foster parents, Morton Amble and Blenda Amble (Olson); his son Joseph Morton; his siblings, Shirley Whitney, Elton Halverson and Glenora; and his grandchildren, Lauren Margaret Amble and Matthew Olson.
He is survived by: his children, Marcus Jonathan (Verlee) of Glenwood and Blenda Agnes Amble (Scott) of Elbow Lake; his friend Geraldine; his wife Geraldine Amble of Glenwood; and his stepsons, Rick Olson (Cheryl) and David Olson (Brenda). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Glenwood Lutheran Church (206 Minnesota Ave E, Glenwood, MN 56334). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery Memorial (206 Minnesota Ave E, Glenwood, MN 56334).
His professional life was defined by his significant contributions to the Glenwood Retirement Village, which he transformed from a modest establishment into a flourishing center for senior care.
