He was predeceased by: his son Christopher; his parents, Herb Murken and Eleanor Murken; his parents-in-law, Verney and Louise Schmitz; and his siblings-in-law, Ronnie Schmitz, Alvin Schmitz, Don Munoz, Donna Weber (Richard) and Bernice Schmitz.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy of Glenwood; his children, Michael Murken (Denise) of Starbuck, Kristine DePestel (Wade) of Canby and Nathaniel Murken of Belgrade; his grandchildren, Cody Murken (Maria Jackson) of Starbuck, Elizabeth Murken of Starbuck, Leslie Murken of Starbuck, Kyla Koehl (Patrick) of Hancock, Lauri Hennes (Matthew) of Kandiyohi, Jordan DePestel of Canby, Reghan DePestel of Canby, Ella DePestel of Canby, Haley Murken of Glenwood, Kaley Murken of Glenwood, Ashley Murken of Glenwood and Khloe Murken of Glenwood; his great grandchildren, Caiden, Cameron, Grayson Koehl and Oliver Hennes; and his sister Annette Munoz of Arizona.
Family requests that memorials be made to the Children's Hospitals of Minnesota.
