He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Rettmann and Esther Rettmann (Habeck); his parents-in-law, Arnold and Yvonne Schauer; his brother Lawrence Rettmann; and his nieces, Jennifer Rettmann, Amy Rettmann and Laurie Rettmann.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Rettmann of Glencoe, MN; his children, Catherine Barthel (Jordan) of Glencoe, MN and Daniel Rettmann (Chelsey) of Fairfax, MN; his grandchildren, Rose Rettmann, Aubree Barthel, Raina Rettmann and Jace Barthel; his stepgrandchildren, Madisen Barthel, Aiden Barthel and Austin Barthel; his siblings, Sharon Meyer of Winthrop, MN and Larry Rettmann (Bonnie) of Belview, MN; and his sister-in-law Vera Rettmann of Hutchinson, MN. He is also survived by Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel (1222 Hennepin Ave N, Glencoe, MN 55336). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church (925 13th St E, Glencoe, MN 55336).
