He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Erwin and Hilda Heimkes; his sister Mavis; and his brother-in-law Herb Gjerde. He is survived by: his wife Arlene Heimkes; his daughter Michelle Gilster (Tracy Johnson) of Ely, MN; and his siblings, Vonnie Nagel (Paul) of Bloomington, Gary Gilster (Joyce) of Prior Lake and Carol Ward (Don) of Parker, CO. He is also survived by nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
