He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Scharpe and Iona Scharpe (Frauendienst); his parents-in-law, Virgil "Toddy" and Amy Sackett; his sister Cora Janke (Jerry); and his brothers-in-law, Bobby Luepke and Bob Sackett.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Scharpe of Glencoe, MN; his children, Jamie Scharpe (Cricket) of Grayson, KY, Jeffrey Scharpe (Kaaren) of Glencoe, MN and Jason Scharpe (Amanda) of Glencoe, MN; his grandchildren, James Phillips (Tyler), Claire Williamson (Shawn), Olivia Scharpe, Chyna Scharpe, Annabelle Scharpe, Paizley Scharpe and Jayce Scharpe; his great grandchildren, Shane Berge, Bryce Berge, Mason Carlson, Maverick Williamson and Makayla Williamson; his siblings, Mary Luepke, Roxanne Leistiko (Bob), Kenneth Scharpe (Myra) and Robert Scharpe; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Sackett, Jerry Sackett (Kathy) and Roger Sackett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorials preferred to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
