He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bayerl and Johanna Bayerl (Libei); his wife Janet; his son-in-law Dean Mathews; his brother Andy; his sister-in-law Martha Bayerl; his brother Isadore Bayerl; his siblings-in-law, Lorin Cacka, Francis and Elaine Otten; his niece Joyce; and his nephews, Joe Quast, Gary Corr and Ron Bayerl.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Bayerl (Kathleen) of Buffalo and Kathy Mathews of Glencoe; his grandchildren, Nathan Bayerl (Misty), Nicholas Mathews and Danielle Palmer (Cameron); his great grandchildren, Henry, Audrey and Elma; and his sister-in-law LaVonne Cacka. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
