He is survived by: his sons, Todd of Virginia and Ryan Pontinen (Stacy) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Kyle Pontinen of Tower, Gray Pontinen of Menomonie, WI and Annika Pontinen of Virginia; his fiancée Karen McCue of Eveleth; and his brothers, Bob (Joy) of Sparta and David Pontinen of Sparta. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
