He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis and Frances "Jane" (McCormick); his parents-in-law, Harvey and Olivia Fischer; his brother-in-law Robert Fischer (Carl Brown); his nephew Greg Fischer; and his nieces, MaryKay Cook and Renee Lureen.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Fischer; his son Craig Torgerson (Jenny); and his siblings-in-law, Aleene Brown, Vonnie Ribbe (Al), Ginna Avery (Dennis), Pat Fischer and Jim Fischer (Ann).
