With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lorenzia Eva Oakes of Gaylord, Minnesota, who passed away on November 21, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Heier and Julia Heier (Hardy); her husband Steve Oakes Sr.; her sons, Steve Jr. Oakes (Joeleen) and Robert Oakes; her son-in-law Brian Weber; her siblings, Leo (Francis), Catherine Kappenmann (Wilfred) and Ann Kolash; her sister-in-law Katherine Heier; her sister Margaret Thornley (Tom); and her brother-in-law William Oakes Jr. (Judy).
She is survived by: her children, Deb Hansen, Rich Oakes (Linda) and Bonnie Weber; her siblings, Regina Reis (Caroll), Albert Heier, Eugene Heier (Betty) and Larry Heier (Cora); and her sister-in-law Kitty Oakes. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (502 2nd Ave SE, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
