She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Battershell and Berniece Darling Battershell; her son James Johnson; her stepgrandson Tristen Miller; and her brother Daniel Battershell.
She is survived by: her husband Daryl Gruis of Garvin, MN; her children, Steven Johnson (Cheryl) of Castaic, CA and Tabatha Halverson of Sartell, MN; her stepdaughters, Amy Swanson (Scott) of Canton, SD and Kim Miller of Sheldon, IA; her daughter-in-law JoAnn Johnson of Little Rock, IA; and her sisters, Betty Owen of Lake Almanor, CA, Celia Gurn of Nampa, ID and Sue Arama of Nampa, ID.. She is also survived by four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
