He was predeceased by: his close friend Curly Carlson; his wives, Carol Nienaber (Charles), Lucille Nienaber (Harold) and Helen Graber; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Graber and Linda Koch.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Houck (Nienaber) of Garfield, MN and John Jr. Nienaber (Carla) of Garfield, MN.; his grandchildren, Catie, Asheley Olivero (Logan), Quinton, Breeanna, Mikayla and Daunte; his great grandchildren, Brendin and Joziah; his siblings, Marshielle (Daryl), Bonnie and Donny (Jane); and his siblings-in-law, Elaine, Marcia (Bruce), Karen (Jamie), Susie and Richard.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (420 Irving St, Alexandria, MN 56308). A Mass was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
