He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leonard Wendorff and Evelyn Wendorff (Moja); his wife Lenore Wendorff; his daughters, Laura Meyer (Nick), Sarah Vortherms (Mark) and Jenna Wendorff; his grandchildren, Alex, Sam, Ben Meyer, Max and Vivienne Wendorff; and his siblings, Ron Wendorff (Ann) and Robin Stoyke (David).

In Lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Fulda Ambulance Association, whose lifting expertise helped him to remain at home.
