He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Getzel and Anna Getzel (Hostetler); his grandparents, Joe and Ann Getzel; his wife Donna Goedtke; his children, Robert Getzel (Donna) of Worthington, MN, Gail Gruis of Fulda, MN and Sheryl "Shortie" Veen (Paul) of Charles City, IA; his sisters-in-law, Betty Getzel of Brewster, MN and Margaret Goedtke of Fulda, MN; his stepsister Patty Loosbrock of St Killian, MN; his stepmother Fran Getzel (Donna); his brother Jimmy Slaybaugh; his half-brother Wallace Getzel; his sisters, Lucille Gerber and Dorothy Gerdes; his half-sisters, Virgene Boulet and Adele Schindler; and his son-in-law Ron Gruis. He was also cherished by 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
