He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Possehl and Patricia Possehl; his wife Sara; and his brothers, Tom, Tony, Dave and Rick.

He is survived by: his daughters, Ashley and Paige Possehl of Virginia; his grandsons, Alden and Barrett; and his siblings, Kim Possehl, Rhonda Humphrey (Doug) and Danny Possehl (Lisa). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
