She was predeceased by: her husband Don; her brother Robert Petersen; and her parents, Fred Petersen and Hazel Petersen. She is survived by: her children, Donavan (Sandi), Susan Culbertson (Terry) and William (Mary). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.

“Carolyn was the epitome of gentleness and kindness. She was my cousin. I last saw her on 01-08-2019. She welcomed Lance and I with a big hug and "It's so nice to see you, it's been a long time!" We cousins, Carolyn, Bev, Toni, Cookie and I,(Kathi) reunited as adults with luncheons and various get-togethers where we enjoyed each other's company and just had fun times. All any of us really have are memories and I will always treasure these very special occasions we shared together. Love to her family, Kathi Buoen”
