He was predeceased by: his father Leonard Hopfer; his former wife Rosella Sand; his grandsons, Michael Kampsen and John Vig; his daughter-in-law Vicki Hopfer; his granddaughter Angie Hopfer; and his siblings, Laura Eickhoff, Bill Hopfer and Bill Langner.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Solsrud (Thull); his children, Liza Kampsen, Dan (Mary), Ruthie Hopfer-Wensmann (Mike), Pete, Tom, Kaye Vig (Dave), Jim and Milissa Schmidt (Andy); his stepsons, David Solsrud, Robert Solsrud and Paul Solsrud; and his sister-in-law Arlana Langner. He is also survived by many grandchildren; great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
