He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Borgerding and Theresa Borgerding (Hoeschen); his wife Margie Borgerding; his daughter Mary Borgerding; his grandchildren, Robin Borgerding, Kimberly Lieser and Joseph Lieser; his great grandchildren, Isaac Lieser and Parker Thelen; his siblings, Leo Borgerding, Dolores "Lori" Ettel, Annella Ehlert and James Borgerding; and his siblings-in-law, Ginny Borgerding, John Stroeing, Alcuin Ettel and Jim Ehlert.
He is survived by: his former wife Margaret Zierden; his children, Chuck Borgerding (Gail) of New Munich, Kathy Lahr (Virgil) of Paynesville, Cheryl Thelen (Jim) of St. Martin, Jane Schleicher (Dan) of New Munich, Brian Borgerding (Kathy) of Sauk Centre and Corey Borgerding (Holly) of Albany; his siblings, Bernice "Bae" Stroeing of St. Paul, Art Borgerding (Nellie) of Cold Spring, Thomas Borgerding of Melrose, Jean Ostendorf (Frank) of St. Joseph and John Borgerding (Darlene) of Melrose; and his sister-in-law Viola Borgerding of Freeport. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren with two on the way, and 13 step great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
