He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignatius Berger and Georgia Berger (Mayfield); his parents-in-law, Leonard and Martha Schultz (Krueger); his brothers, Stanley, Paul, Michael and Neil; his brothers-in-law, James Kulzer and Warren Matson; his niece Robianne Schultz; and his nephew Jeff Quitscreiber.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Daniel John Berger of Frazee and Jodi Kay Lammers (Tim) of Horace, ND; his grandchildren, Melissa Berger of Frazee, Joshua Lammers of Barnesville, MN, Tyler Lammers of Horace, Eric Lammers of Fargo, ND and Samuel Lammers of Horace; his siblings, Roger Berger (Irene) of Anoka, MN, Mark Berger (Dana) of Rochert, MN, Patricia Schneider (William) of Chandler, AZ, Rita Thompson (Arville) of Volga, SD and Susan Winters (Rodney) of Detroit Lakes, MN; and his siblings-in-law, Charlotte Rund (Geoffrey) of Dalton, MN, Jeri Berger of Detroit Lakes, Lloyd Schultz (Linda) of Perham, Gary Schultz (Barb) of New York Mills, Marjorie Kulzer of Detroit Lakes and Juliana Matson of Detroit Lakes. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
