We bid farewell to Diane Mickelson of Frazee, Minnesota, born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 26, 2024 at the age of 73. Diane touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Billing and Dorothy Billing; and her sister Sharon Ann Billing. She is survived by: her husband Dean; her children, Jason Mickelson of Wolf Lake, Jeremy Mickelson (Tracy) of Wolf Lake and Julie Ekren (Travis) of Breckenridge; her sister Phyllis Johnson (Wayne) of Annandale; and her grandchildren, Jack, Charlie and Rudy Ekren. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

The family deeply appreciates the staff at Essentia Health-Oak Crossing and Red River Valley Hospice for their care of Diane throughout her lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia, Posterior Cortical Atrophy, and Parkinson's Disease.

“We send our sincere sympathies to the Mickelson family. I attended 12 yrs of school with Diane, as Audubon Zephyrs!! We were involved in many of the same afterschool activities; cheerleading, band, choir, FHA. Her mom & dad provided wonderful birthday parties at their beautiful farm home, we rode bus together. She was a beautiful friend even though our paths went different ways after school. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and loved her family with great gusto!!! God bless her memory!!!”
