He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Bachmann and Margaret Bachmann (Rader); his daughter Julie Lind; his brother Edward Bachmann; and his siblings-in-law, Duane Grieser, Larry Wouters and Joyce Bachmann.

He is survived by: his wife Verna Bachmann of Frazee; his children, Vince Bachmann (Jane) of Frazee, Carla Willey (Pat) of Ypsilanti and Jason Bachmann (Nancy) of Frazee; his grandchildren, Nolan Kiphuth (Megan), Nick Kiphuth (Sheena), Cynthia Engelhart, Anthony Bachmann (Brooke), Andrew Bachmann (Tavia), Austin Bachmann (Emily), Alecia Willey (Darren), Ashley Bachmann (Tyler) and Brittany Bachmann (Charlton); and his great grandchildren, Caleb, Asher, Arlo, Cyrus, Hailey, Reid, Owen, Cayden, Carter, Carly, Carsyn, Noah, Ashton and Jayden.
