He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sherman and Nora Sherman (Johnson); his wife Laurie Sherman (Pearl Sherman); his great grandchild Theodore Seibert; his stepson James Leonard; his great grandchild Levi Leonard; and his sister Joy Maust.
He is survived by: his former wife Pearl Nelson; and his children, Mark Sherman (Debbie) of Algona, Debra Schloesser (Jack) of Stacy, Todd Sherman (Peggy) of Franklin and Joseph Sherman (Rachel Rogers) of Corona, California. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
