She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Young and Esther Young (Brusven); and her husband Albert "Pete" Scheff. She is survived by: her children, Michelle Landsverk (Ronn), Carla Johnson (Tom), Tina Penner (Kevin), Monte Scheff and Peter Scheff (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Christian, Ava, Bryce, Sonya, Ayden and Cora; and her great grandchild Isla. She is also survived by three sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the pandemic, funeral services for Marlys will be for family only.
