It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Rustad of Fosston, Minnesota, born in Ambrose, North Dakota, who passed away on November 1, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Gulmon and Margaret Gulmon (Leland); her son Kenneth John; her husband Loren A. Rustad; her grandsons, Shannon, Jacob and Bryce Kennedy; and her great grandchild Augustus Rustad.
She is survived by: her children, Lauren Ann (Laurie), Margaret Louise (Meg), Jonathan Dale, Christine Maassel (Mark) of Valparaiso, IN, Laurie McKnight of Fosston, MN, Meg Lezama (Ron) of Plymouth, MN, Jon Rustad (Renee) of Fosston, MN, Melissa Kennedy (Ron) of Fosston, MN, Joan Dufault (Roy) of Fosston, MN and Eric Rustad (Michele) of Maynardville, TN.; her grandchildren, Shawna Belsito (Anthony), Lisa Peck, Jesse Maassel (Michael), Lee Maassel, Jill Freismuth (Ryan), Jordan Hanlon (Laura), Ryan Hanlon, Evan Fonder (Ruth), Adam Lezama (Melissa), Evan Lezama, Erica Pearson (Ryan), Sean Rustad (Jesse), Bjarne Rustad (Kathleen), Melinda Anderson (Matt), Marielle Kennedy, Jared Kennedy, Seth Kennedy (Taylor), Jonathan Dufault (Sheyanne), Suzanne Dufault, Noelle Dufault and Michael Rustad; and her great grandchildren, Abby, Caelyn, Ivan, Porter, Hailey, Hannah, Elise, Lorraine, Hadley, Avery, Liam, Lincoln, Camille, Logan, Kiera, Liliane, Emma, Faith, Ingrid, Ireland, Dane, Emery and Karsyn.
Although Margaret moved into assisted living for a more independent way of life, as the pandemic arrived, her family "broke her out" when her son Jon and his wife Renee offered to share their home with her for the rest of her days.
The family asks that memorials be directed to the Hope Lutheran Church of Fosston Radio/TV fund, or the Fosston Community Library & Arts Association.
