He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Tangen and Clara Tangen (Bjornerud); his sisters-in-law, DeAnne Klemmetson of Fosston, Lois Bratton (Dave) of Colorado and Amy Acampos of Moorhead, MN; and his siblings, Kenneth, Wilmer, Leslie, Orville, Marvis, Roger, Doris Sorgaard, Alice Bergstrom, Marion Larson and Elaine Stone.
He is survived by: his wife Ione Maanum of Fosston; his son Brian (Brenda) of Frazee, MN; his grandchildren, McKinzie Solum (Brady) of Barnesville, MN and Matthew Tangen of Fargo, ND; and his great grandchildren, Adley and Asher Solum. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
