He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert "Gust" Heide and Mathilda "Tillie" Heide (Johnson); his sister Martha; his brother-in-law Everett Schulz; his children, Alan, Laurel Skala and Eileen Gail; and his great grandchild Camryn Laurel Skala.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Joyce Sannes of Fosston; his sons, Roger of Fosston, Neil (Val) of Lengby, MN and Steve (Esther) of Savage, MN; his grandchildren, Jennifer Burnside (Brady), Jamie Swenson (Dave), Josh Skala (Heather), Chris Mowers (Shelby), Chelsie Johnson (Brandon), Ethan, Tyson, Jude, Ibukunmi and Cora Heide; and his brother Marvel Heide (Deloris) of Fosston. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
