He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorand Nelson and Nora Nelson Knudsen (Udseth); his wife Barbara Nelson (Simmons); his stepfather Agnor Knudsen; and his siblings, Nevoline, Jenettle, Adelaide, Louaine and Dorand.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca, Patrice and Jennifer. He is also survived by six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and fifteen nieces and nephews.
