He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kliethermes and Luella Kliethermes (Orscheln); and his brother Leonard (Renilda). He is survived by: his wife Rita; his children, John Kliethermes Jr. (Jami), Mark Kliethermes (MaryAnn), Kevin Kliethermes, Dale Kliethermes and Lori Kliethermes; his grandchildren, Rachel Will (Michael), Chris Kliethermes (Katy), John Kliethermes III (Mary), Ann Waletzko (Eric), Mark Kliethermes, Jr. (Aline), Stephanie Kliethermes, David Kliethermes (Chelsea) and Cody Kliethermes (Megan); his great grandchildren, David, Daniel, Twins Mary, Jami Will, Makayla, Easton Kliethermes, Mariana Kliethermes, Jack, Phillip Waletzko, Lily Kliethermes, Luke Kliethermes and Kennedi Kliethermes; and his nephews, Greg Kliethermes (Barb), Kenny Kliethermes (Karen), Carl Kliethermes (Cindy) and Roger Kliethermes (Kathy).
He donated his eyes to the University of Minnesota Research and Education Center. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to a Cancer Research Center, donors' choice.
