With solemn reverence, we commemorate Marie Smelter (Foley, Minnesota), born in Alberta, Minnesota, whose life came to an end on December 2, 2024 at the age of 93, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Kelash and Aniela Kelash (Bower); her husband Severin Smelter of Joseph's Catholic Church; and her siblings, Frank Kelash, Donald Kelash, Olga Kelash, Annette Skajewski, Margaret Szfranski, Eleanor Grachek and Geraldine Chmielewski.
She is survived by: her children, Joan Thelen (Ronald), Randall, Judy Henneman (Daryl), Bill Smelter, Joanne Brezinka (Edward), Carol Andres (Jim) and Janet Held (Joe); and her sister-in-law Betty Swedziak of Sartell. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Foley Funeral Home (221 2nd Ave, Foley, MN 56329). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (33018 Nature Rd, Foley, MN 56329). A committal service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery (33018 Nature Rd, Foley, MN 56329).
