He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Nelson and Beverly Nelson (Orwald). He is survived by: his children, Angela Carpenter (Travis) of Port Hueneme, CA, Andrea Dahlen (Tanner), East, Jake of Grand Forks, ND, Jesse (Fiance Brittany) and Jorden of Jamestown, ND; his grandchildren, Talon, Brynden, Lincoln Carpenter and Duke Dahlen; his sisters, Terri Johnson (Rick) of Salem, OR and Loretta Wiebolt (Tom) of Mahnomen, MN; his half-brother Keith Nelson (Heidi) of Wadena, MN; and his stepbrothers, Johnny Chournard (Shannon) of Ulen, MN and Roy Allen Chournard (Julie) of Ulen, MN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
