He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlotte Andersen (Richter) and Rev. Leo "L. M." Andersen; his parents-in-law, Ruthe Berkeley, Doris Thilberg, Ted Berkeley and George Thilberg; and his brother-in-law Neil Thilberg.

He is survived by: his wife Penny Andersen of Perham, MN; his children, Rachel Horan (Ted) of Moorhead, MN and Joel Andersen (Heidi Loving) of Plymouth, MN; his grandchildren, Lydia, Jonah Horan, Kinley and Bryce Andersen; his siblings, Martha Glanzman (Paul) of Elk Grove, CA and Paul Andersen (Roseanna) of San Diego, CA; and his siblings-in-law, Jeffry Thilberg of Mesquite, NV, Aowen Annbjorg of Tacoma, WA and David Thilberg (Willette). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
