With heavy hearts, we announce the death of LaVaye Herness of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, who passed away on October 8, 2023 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Evavold and Sarah Evavold (Mekalson); and her brothers, Donald Evavold (Joyce), Charles Evavold, Glenn Evavold and Virgil Evavold (Vicki).
She is survived by: her husband LeWayne; her children, Shari Laven (Dave) of Osakis, Jeffrey Maudal (Karen) of Lakeville, Kevin Maudal (Amy) of New Ulm, Brenda Frederick (Phil) of Battle Lake and Tammy Cichy (Chris) of Henning; her grandchildren, Nicholas Laven (Brittany), Matthew Laven (Charnell), Andrew Maudal, Sarah Sauter (Dustin), Michael Maudal (Rachel), Emma Maudal, Morgan Gesme (Nate), Jordan Frederick, Savanna Anderson (Zack), Madison Dorow (Cole), Macie Cichy and Mitchell Cichy; her great grandchildren, Toby, Lucy, Hadley, Molly, Boedy and Ruthy Laven; her grandchildren, Charlotte, Shae, Brooks Laven, Nora, Wesley, Greta Sauter, Sage Maudal, Isla, Oslo Gesme and Paisley Anderson; her stepdaughters, LeAnn Walters (Rob) and Lori Davis (Jon); her stepgrandchildren, Shaina Hofmeister (Lincoln), Jordan Walters, Josh Walters, Drew Davis and Sareyna Mikelson (Clayton); her stepgreat-grandchildren, Kingston and Jagger Hofmeister; her siblings, Sylvia Burau (Duane), Jerome Evavold (Mary) and Darlene Akerman (Richard); and her sisters-in-law, Joanne Evavold and Peg Evavold. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
