He was predeceased by: his parents, Ole Melvin and Gunda Hexum (Wee); his wife Barbara Olson; his siblings, Errol, Carol Ouren-Anderson, Myron, Robert, Richard and Morris; his siblings-in-law, Carol Hexum, Harold Ouren, Irvin Anderson, JoAnn Hexum, Joyce Hexum, Carolyn Hexum and Mark Olson; and his nieces and nephews, Marilyn Honer, Marlene Honer, Denise Ouren, Kirk Hexum and Ben Olson.
He is survived by: his children, John Hexum (Missy) and Sarah O'Kane (Chris); his granddaughters, Allison, Erin, Jordan O'Kane, Lauren, Aubrey and Hannah Hexum; his sister Kay Moen (Arnie); and his in-laws, Renee Korda, Kathy Thompson (Curt), Carolyn Adams (Brent) and Joel Olson.
