He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Merz and Irene Merz (Libbey). He is survived by: his children, Wayne Merz (Shiela), Laura Penner (Andrew Kueber) and Daniel Merz (Christy Fontenot); his grandchildren, Sasha Riley (Kenny) and Mitchell Eidsvold (Erin Flaharty); his stepgrandchildren, Julie Brandenburger, Jesse Schake, Jocelyn Jameson and Jillisa Schroeder; and his great grandchildren, Kalen, Eden, Monica, Madison and Luna. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
