He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Searles and Hilda Searles (Strand). He is survived by: his wife Ardis Searles of Fergus Falls; and his daughters, Cynthia Olson (Greg) of Vancouver, WA, Barbara Richter (David) of Silverton, OR, Elizabeth Johnson (Robert) of Hazen, ND, Fran Wood (Jeff) of Northfield, MN and Gail Wesolowski (Robert) of Lakeville, MN. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several cousins.
