Ethan Thomas Powell Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ethan Thomas Powell of Farmington, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 1, 2024 at the age of 12. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his aunt Dawn Thieding; his cousins, Tyler, Keaton, Grant Thieding, Drew Thieding, Isabelle, Madison and Bennett Slechta; his grandmother Sharon Thieding; and his uncle Cody Slechta.
He is survived by: his parents, Daniel Powell and Kristin Powell; his sister Olivia; his grandparents, Ernie Thieding and Laurie Slechta; his uncles, Darren Thieding (Nikki), Kurt Thieding (Amy) and Scott Slechta (Christie); and his great-grandparent Frankie Powell (Louise).
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farmington Lutheran Church (20600 Akin Rd, Farmington, MN 55024). A memorial service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Farmington Lutheran Church at farmingtonlutheran.com/give or the Children's Minnesota Cancer Kids Fund at give.childrensmn.org which covered additional costs incurred by Ethan's family during his medical treatment including meals, parking, and housing assistance.
