He is survived by: his wife Elsie Tupa; his sons, Walter Ahrens (Carol) of Lakeville, Bob Ahrens of Willmar and Ken Ahrens of Faribault; his grandchildren, Katie Paumen, Tyler Ahrens, Velma Floer, Cody Ahrens and Joseph Ahrens; and his sister Bonita Slininger. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
