He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Nelson and Helen Nelson; his grandson Cody; his stepmother Mae; his stepsister Markie; his brothers-in-law, Donald, Robert Bergerson, James Johnson and John Brabec; his nephews, Todd, Timothy, Paul and Thomas Bergerson; and his parents-in-law, Gilbert and Alice Bergerson.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Pamela Nelson (Kevin Koenck) of Eden Prairie, Patricia Nelson (David Johnson) of Minneapolis, Douglas (Lizabeth Nelson) of Faribault and Jennifer Nelson of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Caleb, Ava and Alaina Nelson; his sisters, Arlene Johnson of Grove City and June Brabec of Cottonwood, AZ; his stepsiblings, Rodney Heining of Edina and LaVonne Gast of Willmar; and his sisters-in-law, Jan Bergerson of Minnetonka and Rosalie Bergerson of New Richland Hills, TX..
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First English Lutheran Church (204 2nd St NW, Faribault, MN 55021). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
