He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold "Pete" Mathwig and Ruth Mathwig (Thulein); and his siblings-in-law, Barry Bliesmer, Joe Eiden, Jerry Cox, Lee Parker and Clarice Keith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Mathwig of Fairmont, MN; his sons, Scott Mathwig of Mound, MN and Rick Mathwig (Kim) of Woodbury, MN; his grandsons, Nathan and Joshua Mathwig of Woodbury, MN; and his sisters, Mary Bliesmer, Nancy Bishop (Darvin) and Kathy Eiden. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pheasants Forever, or to your local baseball or softball association.
